Gorilla Love

Has anyone seen the new Cadbury chocolate commercial? It's pretty much my favorite TV spot at the moment. Now, I'm not usually a gorilla lover (erm, gorilla joke lover), but not only is this gorilla suit the most realistic I've ever seen (either that or somebody's a heck of a good gorilla trainer), but the choreography to In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins is spot on.

Come on, tell me you've never flailed around air-drumming the build up to that great drum climax? LOVE IT!!

Now you know what high class taste I have in TV and music :-)

This is funny. Have you seen the commercial for one of the new shows called "Carpool"? - Its the exact same thing.

No, I haven't. Is that a U.S. show? This being Ireland, it won't show up here for at least months, I'm guessing :-(

Is that not actually Phil Collins, then? That's a bit of a relief, guy was looking well dodgy for a moment there. Phew.

Hey, how are you? I had this advert brought to my attention by another blogger - having never actually seen it on TV. I thought it was brilliant. And you're right, the choreography totally rules. Very, very funny.

Kind regards etc....

No blogs since Sept. 17th? That's a whole month. What have you been doing in the meantime? How else is one supposed to keep in touch with your antics? You're loosing it girl!

Love ya!

Leave it to daddy to both out me and publicly chide me for my lapses :-) But, I agree, a month IS ridiculously long to go between posts. I promise something by the end of the weekend. OK daddy?

BTW, glad to see you were healthy enough to manage the pallbearing! You looked good, but eat a little why don't you? You don't have an ounce to waste!

TPE, I never thought of that! I guess it could be old Phil, but this guy (or gorilla, take your pick) is probably a little too smooth (in the Shaft, 70's primal kind of way). P.C. never struck me as the "primal" type. Dodgy, yes. Primal, no :-)

BTW, did you hear that his "Hits" album actually got a boost in sales from this ad? Will you think I'm a dweeb if I admit that I was actually one of the people who went out and bought it? LOL :-)

Well, without wishing to put too fine a point on it, Sirmelja, but yes. Yes, I'll think you're a dweeb for going out and buying the Phil Collins album thing. How could you? I am aghast, flabber and gasted and dismayed beyond measure, in fact, at this bleakest of news.

What's a dweeb? Actually, it doesn't matter. I have a sense that a "dweeb" is probably something that someone who buys a Phil Collins album might reasonably be called. You're a dweeb, make no mistake.

Hmm. I wonder if I am then to be considered an ex-dweeb, or a recovering dweeb, perhaps, given that I used to love Phil Collins for a brief and unseemly spell in the eighties (early nineties)? Mention this to anyone, Sirmelja, and you'll be an ex-dweeb yourself - and not in the good way, either.

Hello, nice to meet you, by the way (and thanks for taking the time to respond). That's actually pretty radical and funny that P.C. got a boost in sales as a result of a gorilla playing the drums in an advert for chocolate. That kind of thing is so weird and wonderful that it makes me want to kick my legs in glee. It is all just too corrupt. Brilliant.

Hope everything is happy and bright (I know, I know - it's raining) in your world at the moment. Lovely to meet you.

Kind regards etc....
